Proverbs 30: 7-9
“Two things I ask of you Lord, do not refuse me before I die: Keep falsehood and lies far from me;  give me neither poverty or riches, but give me only my daily bread. Otherwise, I may have too much and disown you and say “Who is the Lord?” Or I may become poor and steal, and so dishonor the Name of my God”.

What/who brought you to The Rescue Mission?
Many years of volunteering at shelters, soup kitchens, and missions.  Dayton Ohio, Columbus Ohio, Chicago and Oshkosh WI were among the locations where I lived and served.

How long have you been volunteering with The Rescue Mission?
After moving from Wisconsin in 1998, I started in 2001 while my wife and I were attending Grace Point Church of the Nazarene, so a little over 18 years. I started serving then coordinating volunteer families to serve dinners on various Saturdays of every month at the Rescue Mission. Now, as the volunteer coordinator at Brookside Church, our volunteers are serving breakfast every Tuesday and Thursday of each week.

How has volunteering at The Rescue Mission impacted you?
My time at the Rescue Mission has emboldened me to enter new mission fields that I may never have entered. From the Mission to; meal preparation at Vincent Village; tutoring at Many Nations church; and doing a Bible study at Magestic Senior Care, all in Fort Wayne. It is like a seed was planted at the Mission and the Lord took it from there.

If you could describe your experience with The Rescue Mission in three words, what would it be?
In His Service.
