Attorney Sleeping Out for the Homeless

Attorney Mark Bloom was excited to raise funds for The Rescue Mission when his employer, Beckman Lawson, announced it would be using this year's Three Rivers Festival Bed Race as an opportunity to help the community.

Bloom set a personal goal to raise $750. He even told his Facebook friends that if he raised the $750, he'd spend the night on the WOWO fire escape.

Bloom raised twice the amount he was hoping for, and he's not ready to quit!

On Friday, July 13 at 5PM, Bloom will begin his stay on the fire escape (201 West Wayne Street, Fort Wayne, Ind.), and he will remain there until 9AM on Saturday morning. During his stay, Bloom will be lowering a bucket to anyone who wishes to contribute to his fundraising efforts for The Rescue Mission.

On Facebook, Bloom said he is humbled by the generoisty of the people who have given.

An offical check presentation from Beckman Lawson to The Rescue Mission will be presented on Wednesday, July 18 just before the Bed Race at 4:30PM in the 1st Source Lobby.
